Our client is a National Patient Safety Awards Winner Hospital who are looking to recruit experienced Staff Nurses to be based in the Hospital at Surrey. This hospital provides acute and complex services apart from a range of outpatient and diagnostic services. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has given them an outstanding rating.

We are looking for caring and compassionate registered nurses to work in a range of medical and surgical settings in our hospital at Surrey, minimum 1 and preferably 2+ year’s experienced nurses in any of the following:

Q1. : What is the Application / Interview Process?
Ans. : Please email a detailed and updated CV with full contact details including WhatsApp & SKYPE id, the CV must be in MSWord format (no PDF pls.), a recent color photo, RN license, Proof of Experience, IELTS / OET result, Passport copies, to firstname.lastname@example.org / futures at roychowdhurys dot com. Q2. Please clarify the type and duration of initial visa, who pays for the Visa & Joining Tickets?
Ans. : 5 year’s Visa will be provided by the employer, the candidate will pay for travel ticket after they receive the visa, this is applicable for all expat workers within healthcare.
Q3. Will married nurses be able to sponsor their spouse?
Ans. Yes, they can bring their family as and when, but the spouse must find their own employment.
Q4. : Will Pension and other staff benefits be admissible for Expat Nurses?
Ans. : Yes, it would be, we are an equal opportunity employer, more details provided during the interview.
Q5. : Will overtime be paid extra?
Ans. : Yes, overtime is paid extra and additionally, nurses can take outside part-time work, if available, actually the extra work possibility is a significant earning for most expats, and they find plenty of avenues.
Q6. : Will Accommodation / Transportation be provided extra?
Ans. : No, UK Healthcare staff get their salaries inclusive of accommodation & transportation. However, the hospital Admin will offer full-time accommodation at a very low rate, again this will be discussed at the interview.
Q7. : What are the entitlements towards paid annual leaves / Maternity leaves?
Ans. : Annual leaves vary between 28-32 days depending on employers, however, governed under UK labour laws which are considered one of the best around the world.
Q8. : Would I be entitled to the minimum package from the date I land for work in the UK?
Ans. : Unless you are already licensed by the NHS as a nurse, after arriving in the UK, most expat Nurses will join as Healthcare Assistant and will continue to work in this position and get paid accordingly, while preparing for the NMC Application test. Most nurses are able to complete the same between 6-9 months period and after passing the test, will be entitled to the starting package. More details will be provided during the Skype interview.
Q9. : Will Medical Insurance be available?
Ans. : Yes, as per UK labour laws, all nurses are be entitled to medical insurance paid by the employer.
Q10. : Is a valid passport necessary for application?
Ans. : No, you can apply without the Passport, however, the visa cannot be issued without a valid Passport.
Q11. : What are the tests and fees involved for UK nursing & midwifery license
Ans. : Application fees for nursing/midwifery: £140
: Part 1 test of competence (CBT) £90, Online MCQ test, can be taken in the home country
: Part 2 test of competence (OSCE) £794, must be taken only inside the UK
: Admission onto NMC register £153

Q12. CBT/OSCE - Test Preparation, Fees, will it be paid by the Employer?
Ans. : Yes, for OSCE test, and preparation expenses will be reimbursed by the employer, more details available during the interview.
Q13. : What if the candidate fails to clear OSCE test after repeat attempts, will they return back to home country?
Ans. : All nurse must pass the exam & will continue working as an HCA until they pass, no need to return.
Q14. : Does the nurse need to carry any minimum cash, funds on her during first travel.
Ans. : Entirely the discretion of the candidate, no minimum or maximum criteria.
